Renaissance Festival

Today, my Mom, Mike and I went to the Renaissance Festival. I have never been to the Renaissance festival before so I wasn’t really sure what to expect at all. I had heard mixed reviews about it from all sorts of people I knew and customers at work. My mom had always wanted to go so we decided today was the day to go! It has been raining like crazy here for the past few days (YAY) However the rain held off today so we could enjoy the festival and not get soaked. It was super muddy though. When we first got there I really didn’t know what to think! There were tons of people dressed up and I felt like I had been transported into Tamriel which was kinda cool! If only I had my Dark Brotherhood stuff I want to make done by today lol. It was super crowded which made me uncomfortable but I got over it! The first show we stopped to see was a pyro show. It was amusing, the guy kept making dick jokes and complaining about people acting like oil paintings lol. I figured there’d be more fire but it was fun anyways!

The people-watching was amazing. I loved to see all of the costumes and how into the roles people get. I feel like I definitely enjoyed it a lot more since it reminded me of Skyrim so much. It was like I was really in the game (minus the dragons and being attacked constantly)

It was the sweet endings weekend so I of course had to get some yummy fudge! It was soooo good 😀 After wandering around a while more we stumbled upon a falconry show which turned out to be the best thing we saw! It was amazing how intelligent the birds were and how they all had their own personalities.

Cleo, the Eurasian eagle owl, was the best bird of the day! She was so sassy and she responded when the guide would call to her. She refused to go along with the routine and gave the guide shit about going back into the cage. She was sooo big and her eyes were so gorgeous!

The last bird was the only one I found creepy! It was some type of vulture but learning about them was very interesting. They help to rid the world of diseases by eating and digesting dead things full of disease. Their heads are featherless so they don’t get guts clogged in their head-feathers when they are going neck deep in a carcass.

Overall, it was a good time and I would definitely go again (dressed up in my DB clothes) haha.
